The class went on an art learning journey to NUS Museum last Thursday. An eye-opener even for me as it was my first time there too. We were glad to have Mdm Yap SF and Mr Muzammil as our guides. The class was divided into 2 groups and I was mainly with Mr Muzammil's group and that explains why there are so many pictures of the same group of children.
There are few installations in the museum but each group only had time to view 1 installation. Children who were with Mr Muzammil that day were looking at the 'Camping and Tramping Through the Colonial Archive: The Museum in Malaya'. Those who were with Mdm Yap were looking at 'Discordant Symmetries-Wei Leng Tay'.
Some of the artefacts have beeen mobilised from Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research (NUS). A very interesting museum. You should go if you have not been there.
I am very proud of the 3 boys (Joon Fai, Sebastian and Isaac) who stood up and shared what they have observed about the paintings and their interpretation of the artwork. Great insights. I managed to sneak up to the top floor to see what the other group was doing or rather my main mission was to take a few pictures of them. They were so attentive.....
I hope all of you have enjoyed and learnt something. Another learning journery coming up soon..
